The analogue obsessive has returned with a new full-length project.

Irish techno doyen Donnacha Costello has released Love From Dust, his first album since 2011. Costello’s plans for the album were originally announced last year as part of a crowdfunding initiative, launched when Costello was notified that the EMS Synthi he signed up for in 2001 was finally being built. The campaign didn’t reach its intended goal, so Costello purchased a Buchla Music Easel to create the LP instead.

Every track on Love From Dust was recorded using the Buchla Music Easel and two effects pedals. The tracks were recorded in single takes with no overdubs. According to Costello, the album recalls his “classic emotional, melodic, ambient years,” like his 2001 Mille Plateaux full-length Together Is The New Alone or the Colorseries releases.

Love From Dust is available now via Bandcamp. Stream the album and check the tracklist below. [via RA]
