If you’ve ever found yourself wanting to lay down a verse with only your phone to hand – or more realistically, you have no hope of even scoring a hit mixtape on Datpiff – a new iOS app called RapMic might be the answer.

The app is pretty much foolproof – simply choose from one of three different backing instrumentals, record a rhyme, and tap to share it via iMessage. In its current form, RapMic is probably not intended for serious use – it does only feature three pretty generic-sounding instrumentals – but if future updates let us upload our own instrumentals it could genuinely be a pretty useful tool.

You can download it for free at the App Store, but if you need something a little more fully-featured, check FACT’s list of the 10 best cheap, quick and easy music-making apps for iOS. [via The Next Web]
