Apple to include high-quality audio option in new iOS 9 update

The company’s next update promises more control of high-quality streaming.

As more platforms pop up an essential part of the music streaming conversation has moved toward s audio quality. Now Apple has revealed that the upcoming iOS 9 update will offer options for high-quality music streaming. Apple Music currently plays at 256 kbps AAC (the quality of an iTunes purchase) while on Wi-Fi, but goes down in quality when relying on cell data. Now a toggle option with allow listeners to sacrifice some extra data to hear better quality in Apple Music. The feature was released to developers this week and will be available when the OS launches in the fall.
