Wildlife sound recordist and former Cabaret Voltaire innovator Chris Watson is giving a talk at the Wellcome Collection this Sunday, September 27.

Sounds Of Nature will pair Watson with broadcaster Andrew McGregor for a discussion about field recording and the connections between the sounds of the natural world and human music making.

It’s part of the Why Music? series at the London institution this weekend, which looks at how music manipulates our behaviour, shapes our brains and affects our physical and mental wellbeing, language, literature and memory. Why Music? will also be broadcast on Radio 3 and available on iPlayer afterwards.

The talk is free but you need a ticket – head to the Wellcome Collection’s website to grab one.
