A new song credited to Hype Williams titled ‘Distance’ was uploaded on Soundcloud today through the group’s account. Since this is Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland we’re dealing with here, there isn’t much more information, though the tag “ForBAM” suggests it’s a tribute to Hippos In Tanks-founder Barron Machat, who died earlier this year.

The track is a brief, delicate piece of music that you can stream and download below. Though both artists have moved on to prolific solo careers, the last Hype Williams album was 2012’s Black Is Beautiful. Last year Kode9 alluded to a new Hype Williams album on Hyperdub.
