Detroit techno pioneers announce special one-off performance. 

Jeff Mills and Derrick May have been expanding the reach of techno by performing alongside countless international orchestras for the best part of a decade. The two Detroit innovators will travel to Australia in January for a special for a special one-off concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Derrick May’s performance will be conducted and arranged by Dzijan Emin, who has worked extensively with May and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in recent months. Jeff Mills will be presenting a brand new live work created with French composer and past collaborator Thomas Roussel.

The concert will take place at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday, 30 January with tickets going on sale to the general public on Thursday, 12 November. [via themusic.com.au]
