No room for polite greetings here – Benga has unveiled a vicious comeback.

The London DJ and producer’s new single is a swirling electro banger centred around a robotic command to “make moves not money”, and is taken from his forthcoming Future Funk EP.

Introducing the new record, Benga said: “It’s been two years and I have grown a lot, and I now know what’s important: music. I’m back and I think my sound is the most ‘me’ it’s been since Diary of an Afro Warrior and I’m super excited to play it and reconnect with all of the people who have supported me. Let’s have a good year!”

Benga returns to music this year after a hiatus to focus on his mental health issues, and he’ll be back behind the decks at Fabric on February 12 as part of a Tectonic takeover. The dubstep pioneer initially announced his retirement in 2014 after experiencing a breakdown, later speaking candidly about his bipolar diagnosis.

Hear Future Funk EP is out on Benga’s own label on February 26.
