A selection of key recordings by trailblazing German electronic outfit Cluster, including one unreleased album and two made with Brian Eno, will form a new box set called Cluster 1971-1981.

Among the eight remastered LPs included are Cluster 71Cluster II and Zuckerzeit, released on Brain Records in 1972, Sowiesoso and Curiosum, released on Sky in 1976 and 1981 respectively, as well as Cluster & Eno (1977) and Eno Moebius Roedelius / After The Heat (1978).

Having worked as a trio with Conrad Schnitzler, Kluster swapped the K for a C and released their self-titled ‘debut’ as two-piece Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius in 1971. It was subsequently re-released with different artwork on Günter Körber’s genre-defining Sky label in 1980, a year after the influential Grosses Wasser.

Completing the set is Konzerte 1972/1977, an album of previously unreleased live recordings.

Out on April 8 on Piccadilly Records and available to pre-order now, the box set has been remastered by Willem Makkee and comes with a booklet featuring essays on each album, along with rare photos.

It follows 2015’s five-vinyl Harmonia retrospective, which was in the works before Dieter Moebius died last July.
