“None of this Ableton bullshit, this is punk rock kids!”

The Avalanches say their much-anticipated comeback at Primavera was saved by Jamie xx.

The band – who have uploaded the hour-long performance in full – explain their performance was put together an hour before they were due to go on stage, “after visa fuckups nixed our live band plans,” they wrote on SoundCloud.

“Thank fuck we had our vinyl with us. Special thanks and much love to Jamie xx who came through for us with the classic ‘good times’ acapella at the last moment!”

They also admit that the “mixing is ruff as fuck” for the live audio, “but that’s the way we roll. None of this Ableton bullshit, this is punk rock kids!” Hear the set, titled Primavera Desk Tape, below.

The sample-loving legends, who returned earlier this month with ‘Frankie Sinatra’, a new track featuring Danny Brown and MF Doom, will release their highly-anticipated second album Wildflower on July 8.
