One for the top shelf.
Physical copies of Radiohead’s ninth album A Moon Shaped Pool have landed – and they’re as lush and beautiful as anything you’d expect from the painterly hand of the band’s long-time visual collaborator Stanley Donwood.
Out on black and limited white vinyl, the album features a double gatefold design that’s continued on the inside of the sleeve.
The vinyl also comes with an A3 poster of the artwork, a 12″x12″ print, and Donwood’s very own How to create your own A Moon Shaped Pool artwork in 66 easy-to-follow steps pamphlet. You can see some of the instructions featured inside the pamphlet below.

The band revealed the physical edition at today’s worldwide streaming event for the LP, which features pre-recorded music being piped through the walls of participating stores.
This includes a two-hour mix by Jonny Greenwood of live tracks from last month’s Roundhouse shows in London, as well as playlist favourites from Ed O’Brien and Colin Greenwood. Thom Yorke also contributed a playlist based on his ‘office charts’.
Attendees at the event will also receive the aforementioned Donwood pamphlet and there’s the chance to win prizes, from original ‘Burn The Witch’ figurines to Donwood screen prints and a 35mm celluloid print of Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Daydreaming’ video.
The deluxe casebound edition – featuring a piece of ½ inch master tape, a 32-page booklet and two bonus tracks – will be released in September.
