The composer will debut the new piece on his 80th birthday.

Philip Glass has announced he will debut Symphony No. 11 on January 31, 2017 at Carnegie Hall. His last symphony was released in 2012.

Like Symphony No. 10, Glass’ longtime collaborator Dennis Russell Davies will conduct, as he has done with all previous symphonies.

It’s good timing, Glass released a new box containing all his previous symphonies earlier this year via Orange Mountain Music.
