Ever wondered how to make music that sounds like John Carpenter? Online gear marketplace Reverb has created a video that explains the process behind some of his most memorable themes.

As well as exploring the classic synthesizers used by Carpenter, the 14-minute video offers short tutorials on how to recreate the themes from three of his key movies: Halloween, The Fog and Assault On Precinct 13.

Earlier this year Carpenter hinted that he could return to score the next movie in the Halloween franchise, which he is attached to as executive producer. [via The AV Club]
