A fierce debut.

NYC native Liana Bank$ has been racking up songwriting credits for artists like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj since she was just a teenager.

With those music industry bona fides in her pocket, the 25-year-old singer has been striking out on her own with bright R&B singles like ‘LVL UP’ and the Mura Masa-produced ‘Leave Me Alone’.

Today, the neon green-haired singer has released her debut solo project Insubordinate. The songs are perfectly primed for pop radio, but still tough and raw.

“When you filter your art, you suppress your truths. You in turn, water down your message, your essence is stripped and you mask your identity,” she told Complex, who premiered the release. “you mask ‘YOU,’ how will anyone know who ‘YOU’ are? Fuck perception, Fuck rules.”

Listen to Insubordinate below.
