UK label Lo Recordings has announced a 20th anniversary compilation featuring a rare Aphex Twin remix from 1996.
Released on November 25, It’s Been Hell: 20 Years of Lo Recordings features two discs of original tracks and remixes from across the label’s two-decade history.
Aphex Twin appears on the remixes disc with his 1996 rework of ‘Debase’ by The Mike Flowers Pops, the British easy listening band that reached number two on the UK singles chart with their cover of Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’ in 1995.
Lo Recordings launched in 1995, and has released a diverse collection music from across the electronic spectrum, covering library music, synth-pop and IDM.
The compilation features original tracks from Grimes, NZCA Lines, The Horrors’ Tom Furse and nu-Balearic artist Hatchback, while remixes include Hot Chip’s rework of The Chap’s ‘Woop Woop’ and Plastician’s remix of Luke Vibert and the late Jean Jacques Perrey.
Remixes by Squarepusher, Nathan Fake, Auntie Flo and Ulrich Schnauss also feature on the compilation’s second disc. Pre-order the compilation from the Lo Recordings website.
Earlier this year Nina Kraviz’s Trip label released a rare Aphex Twin track from one of his legendary SoundCloud dumps.
