The Trump camp making shit up?! How novel!

A member of Donald Trump’s team claimed in a filmed interview yesterday that Elton John is playing the president’s inauguration ball – a claim that the pop star has swiftly shot down as untrue.

Anthony Scaramucci, who is also a vice chair of Trump’s Presidential inaugural committee, told the BBC that Elton John will play the concert on the Mall for his inauguration in January, insisting the President-elect is pro-gay rights.

However, a rep for Elton John swiftly denied the claims via a simple statement to the New York Post: “Elton will not be performing at Trump’s inauguration.”

In February, John told the Guardian that he “didn’t really want my music to be involved in anything to do with an American election campaign.”

“I’m British. I’ve met Donald Trump, he was very nice to me, it’s nothing personal, his political views are his own, mine are very different, I’m not a Republican in a million years,” he added in the same Guardian interview. “Why not ask Ted fucking Nugent? Or one of those fucking country stars? They’ll do it for you.”

Perhaps Scaramucci should give Riff Raff a call – the rapper has kindly offered to play the ball for the bargain price of $50k.
