The Dewaele brothers mark the limited edition release with an hour of YMO magic.
Soulwax returned earlier this month with their first new track in 11 years ahead of an upcoming UK and European tour. That track, the huge ‘Transient Program for Drums and Machinery’, was released on limited edition 12″ today and to celebrate, they’ve put together a mix of Yellow Magic Orchestra gems, rarities and favorites.
“All members of Yellow Magic Orchestra were involved in one way or another, either as producer, writer or performer” in the tracks here, say the Belgian pair. “It shows how incredibly influential and prolific these guys have been any why they are still unequalled to this day, both as solo artists and together as YMO.” Check it out below.
The ‘Transient Program for Drums and Machinery’ 12″ is limited to 500 copies, with artwork designed by III Studio. The inner sleeves are printed on art paper with a matt varnish and the outer sleeves are printed on 300gsm GC1 cardboard with a UV high gloss varnish. The vinyl also features laser etching on the B side. Pick it up here via The Vinyl Factory but be quick about – those 500 copies aren’t going to hang around long.
