All of the jams, none of the controller-breaking difficulty.

One of the definitive trilogies of the NES-era, Ninja Gaiden is the next series to get the vinyl treatment from video game soundtrack maestros Brave Wave.

After announcing the news last fall, the label will release the trilogy tomorrow with two volumes remastered under the supervision of original composer Keiji Yamagishi .

Vol. 1 includes the soundtrack for the original Ninja Gaiden by Keiji Yamagishi, Mikio Saito and Ryuichi Nitta. The 2xLP release features both the NES and Arcade versions amounting to 51 tracks.

Vol. 2 features both Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos and Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Sword of Doom from the team of Ryuichi Nitta, Mayuko Okamura, Rika Shigeno and Kaori Nakaba. While the first two games have never had soundtrack releases so true to the composers vision, this marks the debut soundtrack release for Ninja Gaiden III in any form.

The releases are available separately or in a limited edition 4xLP boxset, as well as CD and digital releases. The LP sets come with booklet with archival art, an essay by game historian Ray Barnholt and an exclusive roundtable interview with the composers.

Look at the artwork for the release and order both volumes April 12 via Brave Wave’s Bandcamp.
