Nick Mulvey has released a new track, ‘Myela’, about the ongoing refugee crisis, with proceeds going to the charity Help Refugees UK.

The song is the second track to be previewed from new album Wake Up Now, released on September 8 via Fiction, and sees the songwriter delve into a more electronic sound, aided by London producer Dan Carey.

“We felt unworthy to write poetry about this subject,” said Mulvey, explaining the track’s sobering lyrics, in which Mulvey recounts tales of survivors from the humanitarian disaster. “Exploring first-hand accounts of refugee journeys, we wanted to give them voice.”

Listen to the track below. Mulvey will perform as part of the Give A Home For Human Rights Campaign on September 20 in association with Amnesty.
