Esben and The Witch have signed to Matador, and will release a new EP on October 11.

The Brighton trio – who make dramatic, imaginative, folk-influenced pop, and comprise members Rachel Davies (pictured), Daniel Copeman and Thomas Fisher – have been busy on the festival circuit this summer, building an estimable reputation along the way. Their first release for Matador will be the limited edition 12″, ‘Marching Song’, which follows their self-released 33 EP and ‘Lucia, at the Precipice’ 7″. It’s comprised of three new tracks: ‘Marching Song’, ‘Done Because We Are Too Menny’ and ‘Souvenirs’.

A video has been made for the 12″‘s title track by The Agenda Collective’s Peter King and David Procter. Watch it here.

Esben will be touring the US in September and October in support of the release, and they have also confirmed a small number of UK dates in November.
