To herald the release of his new album The Only She Chapters through Warp on April 25, Prefuse 73 has put together a mixtape with Zola Jesus.

Zola (pictured) is one of several vocalists who contribute to The Only She Chapters; others include Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), Niki Randa and the late Trish Keenan (Broadcast). The mixtape is entitled Prefuse 73 + Zola Jesus Mix Pt.1: The Misanthrope Meditation, and you can download it and cop the tracklist below. Further mixes from the Prefuse camp are set to emerge in the coming weeks.
The Misanthrope Meditation lives up to its title, with pensive, creepy tracks from Bruce Haack, Demdike Stare, Broadcast & The Focus Group, Tim Hecker, Laurie Spiegel, Mordant Music and horror soundtrack maestro Bruno Nicolai, and opening with some of Edward Williams’ music for David Attenborough’s Life On Earth (reissued by Trunk in 2009).
In other news, Prefuse has confirmed via Twitter that he’s recording new material with The Flaming Lips:  “Currently working with: (the)”Flaming Lips” on 2 songs and I think it’s the first time I’ve ever been “scared” by a collaboration. These songs are already AMAZING!”
