The Knife are reportedly working on a new studio album.

A new LP will be released in 2012, according to a post on the duo’s official website [via Pitchfork].

It will be their first proper Knife full-length since 2006’s Silent Shout, though it’s not like Karin and Olof Dreijer Andersson have been lazing around in the interim, with the former releasing a solo album in 2009 as Fever Ray, the latter producing a series of hypnotic techno 12″s as Oni Ayhun, and the two collaborating on the Darwin-inspired opera, Tomorrow, In A Year.
