Check out this fold-out origami record sleeve designed by UK label A Future Without

Because gatefold is for squares.

UK label A Future Without has unveiled a fold-out sleeve design to house a new record by composer and label manager Will Plowman.

The octagonal origami casing that wraps around the Ahamay Grove EP is designed to fold out like a flower, with a 10″ white label nestling inside the hand screen-printed paper.

Inside is an experimental piano record based around four improvisations in four different locations, where the acoustics and atmosphere of each environment is as important as the piano itself. Hear it below.

The only thing that concerns us is how you’d find the record on your shelf when it doesn’t have a spine? Still, it’s a more appealing gimmick than Nicolas Jaar’s Prism. [via The Vinyl Factory]
