Rdio answers Beats 1 with stations helmed by labels and influencers.

Streaming service Rdio has just launched a series of curated stations in response to the launch of Apple Music.

Though it might not have the user base of Spotify or clout of Apple, Rdio has gathered an impressive list of labels and “influencers” to helm a new series of stations including DFA Records, XL Recordings, Blue Note and more.

According to The Next Web, Rdio’s in-house music team has worked directly with their selection of curators to put together recommendations representing music exciting “local tastemakers.”

The stations will be available on all Rdio’s subscriptions including its free plan, but it still doesn’t have shows presented by Jaden Smith or Elton John.
