A new vinyl specialist is opening in South London.

Container Records is located in POP Brixton, the shipping container village which opened earlier this year to no small amount of controversy, and promises electronic music of every stripe as well as punk, indie, hip-hop and soundtracks on vinyl.

Container will also buy and sell second-hand records and offer T-shirts and gig tickets as well as occasionally hosting events in-store when it opens in two weeks. Opening hours are 11am–7pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 11am–8pm from Thursday to Saturday. They’ve launched a mix series to celebrate – stream the first instalment below.

The shop joins local outlets Pure Vinyl, which started trading in Brixton’s Reliance Arcade earlier this year, and local mainstays Supertone Records, Selectors Music Emporium and Music Temple. [via The Vinyl Factory/Brixton Buzz]
