ANOHNI, formerly Antony, has been cut from the Oscars ceremony.

The singer was due to perform ‘Manta Ray’, her collaboration with J. Ralph from the documentary Racing Extinction, after being nominated for Best Original Song. As Variety reports, her slot was cut due to “time constraints”.

A performance of ‘Simple Song #3’, by composer David Lang and soprano Sumi Jo for Paolo Sorrentino’s film Youth, has also been cut from the ceremony.

Lady Gaga, Sam Smith and The Weeknd will all perform their nominated songs from The Hunting Ground, Spectre, and Fifty Shades of Grey, so you’ve got that to look forward to we guess.

Meanwhile, a “special performance” by Dave Grohl has been announced for the show, suggesting that another Nirvana tribute to Bowie could be the reason for these new “time constraints”.

ANOHNI’s new album Hopelessness, a collaboration with Hudson Mohawke and Oneohtrix Point Never, is out later this year.
