The Master of Horror makes his UK music debut in October.

Bristol’s Simple Things Festival has announced details of its closing concert for 2016, which sees horror auteur John Carpenter bring his live band to the city’s Colston Hall.

The date comes as part of his first ever European tour, and follows the release of Lost Themes and Lost Themes II, two albums filled with original compositions from the artist who brought us the themes to Halloween and Assault on Precinct 13.

The concert takes place on October 23 as the finale to the multi-venue festival, which takes place throughout Bristol on October 22. The full line-up is yet to be announced, but tickets for Carpenter’s performance can be bought separately from May 6 from the Simple Things website.

Carpenter’s performance at Simple Things will be followed by three further UK dates as part of ATP’s annual Release the Bats event, which this year takes place in Manchester across October 28-29, and in London on October 31.
