Following the ‘Lavender’ controversy.

Snoop Dogg has announced his next album Neva Left is slated to be released on May 19.

The album follows the release of his controversial video for ‘Lavender’ featuring BadBadNotGood and produced by Kaytranada. In the clip, Snoop parodies an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

No fan of celebrity backlash, Trump took to Twitter to lambast Snoop Dogg’s video, saying that he would receive “jail time” if he had portrayed the same imagery about President Obama. While rappers like T.I. and Bow Wow rallied to support Snoop, Trump got a boost from former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who referred to the Long Beach rapper names, such as “Poop Dogg”.
