DJ Rashad’s brand of footwork has always been some of the most compulsively listenable in the game. Now, courtesy of director Ashes57 (Swamp81), it has a perfect visual equivalent – Rashad, who was a footwork dancer before he was a producer, shows off his best dribbles, erks and ghosts; in turn, the director slices up the performance into a series of absurd stills.

Ashes57’s choppy style is an effective visual analogue for footwork’s sonic strategies; in fact, the video’s not a million miles away from something Jan Svankmajer might cook up. You can watch it below.
