Battles have done a fine job of reinvigorating last year’s Gloss Drop with a series of high profile remixes.

The full set – which will be collected on an album ingeniously titled Dross Glop and released on Record Store Day (April 21, in case you hadn’t heard) – includes contributions from Shabazz Palaces, Silent Servant, Gui Boratto and more (Kode9’s one is particularly excellent).

Given the sugar-fuelled ADD vibe of the source material, and Hud Mo’s past form when it comes to remixes, it’s almost impossible to conceive of this project without his involvement. His version of ‘Rolls Bayce’ is built around a comically slow moombahton stomp, amping up the ice-cream van-sweetness of those synth lines and dropping a huge, friendly bassline in underneath. Try not to smile just a little bit.
