South London house hobbyist Bob Bhamra has produced a cracking tripartite mix selection.

Bhamra’s always a reliable producer of oddball 4/4 music, and he’s released some great stuff in 2012: check his kooky Space Loops Vol. 3 collection as Data70, or his sultry Coming On Strong’ (which came backed with an excellent Pangaea mix on the flip). A new mix, divided into three movements, showcases the breadth of Bhamra’s taste.

Part 1 (‘Take Me Out’) focuses on fairly jacking fare, including Bobby Champs and Hypercolour’s Mark Henning. Part 2 (‘Take Me Home’), meanwhile, is much more languid, featuring shimmering cuts from Lowtec and Jus Ed. The third instalment (‘Take Me Down’) is the slowest, strangest and best of the three: Joe’s recent ‘MB’ features, as does material from Elgato and Moodymann. There’s plenty of original WNCL dubplate material to enjoy, ranging from the funky-indebted boogie cut ‘We Have To Live In The Future’ to the excellent ‘Time Loops’.

West Norwood Cassette Library plays the Fill Yer Boots night on Saturday October 20. Download the mix for free below.
