patten came to our attention back in 2010 making music that mulched shoegaze, glitch and techno into one strange, satisfying gumbo. The producer has been relatively quiet this year, but he’s turned out a host of fine cassette releases on his bespoke label Kaleidoscope: Vanilla Hammer, Sculpture, and the lovely Karen Gwyer are among those to make the cut. patten has gifted us a track from the enigmatic Orphan, who will release the Retakes cassette on the label next year. It’s a dubby delight, with touches of Peaking Lights and John Talabot, and it’s yours to grab below.
