Jason Chung and Chaz Bundick split the difference on the muted, woozy ‘Try’.
Nosaj Thing — aka L.A’s Jason Chung — will release Home, his first LP since 2009′s Drift, next week. Patient and persistent fans could stream the album last month, which includes a collaboration with Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino. Now, the album’s other collaborative effort is available to stream.
‘Try’ shares the evocative melancholy that is prominent in the songcraft of both Nosaj Thing and Toro y Moi, and the collaboration feels like an equal one. The sparse, hip-hop snap is more inline with Chung’s work, while the breathless melody is closer to that of Bundick.
Stream ‘Try’ below. Also due out next week, Toro y Moi’s Anything in Return is also streaming now.
