Azealia Banks re-teams with Lone for 'Count Contessa'; listen now

The combative rapper shares another single in advance of her long-delayed debut.

Azealia Banks rapped and sang over Lone’s ‘Pineapple Crush’ for last year’s ‘Liquorice’, off her 1991 EP. On ‘Count Contessa’, she goes back to well, getting blasé over a beat reminiscent of Lone’s ‘Airglow Fires’. Update: Appropriately enough, the background track is Lone’s ‘Aquamarine’, from his 2010 mini-album Emerald Fantasy Tracks.

“It’s a song about a woman with with a man’s physical strength. Like, literally,” she tweets. “Count Contessa was a Dyke who won the fist fight with Muscle Mike.” Stream ‘Count Contessa’ below.

Last week, Banks revealed the tracklist for Broke With Expensive Taste, which is now due sometime in 2014. ‘Count Contessa’ wasn’t on that list, and the Soundcloud teases “Fantasea II: The Second Wave (2014)” for next July 11; we’ll take promises of another Fantasea mixtape with a grain of salt.
