FACT's alternative BRITs 2014: the nominations

Pity the BRITs – an orgy of bigwig-on-bigwig backslapping and putrid glitz.

That’s why, for the third year on the trot, we’ll be hosting FACT’s ever-popular alternative BRITs – the ceremony where we toast the acts who’ve rocked, shaken and ruled our world over the last 12 months. Ours is a bash where quality and innovation trump chart muscle or playlist heft, and where only the finest homegrown and international artists have a fighting chance of landing one of our coveted statuettes (disclaimer: statuettes may or may not actually exist).

Over the next nine pages, we’ve announced our five nominations for each category, with the winners – plus the recipient of our Lifetime Achievement award – set to be awarded on Wednesday February 19 (same day as the ceremony proper).
