Matthew Dear’s made more than a few stops at Fabric, but his forthcoming date will be a different sort of affair entirely.

On December 5, the Ghostly boss will appear at the Farringdon institution to air his well-honed live set. Dear’s latest album Beams saw the Texan continue his strange odyssey into the realms of synth-pop – in contrast to, say, Asa Breed, it’s a dark, smoky, modish record. Dear will be giving the album a live airing, backed by a full band (spoiler: there’s going to be a trumpet).

Support comes from The Invisible. The trio’s prismatic Rispah LP for Ninja Tune proved their loveliest release to date, and they should shine in Fabric’s huge main room. Further support comes from unfussy house-via-indie producer Daniel Avery and Matt Walsh.

The night runs from 9.00pm until 1.00am. Tickets and further information are available from the Fabric website.
