The Jesus And Mary Chain add more Psychocandy shows

After the first batch of dates sold out in minutes, The Jesus and Mary Chain have added two more gigs to November’s tour.

The five dates will see the seminal Scottish band perform their noise-pop classic Psychocandy in its entirety, and will be their first shows in over five years.

Tickets are on sale now.

The band explained the thinking behind the tour by saying: “Psychocandy was meant to be a kick in the teeth to all of those who stood in our way at the time, which was practically the whole music industry. In 1985 there were a great many people who predicted no more than a six month life span for The Mary Chain. To celebrate the approaching 30th anniversary of the album, we would like to perform it in its entirety. We will also perform key songs from that period that did not feature on the album.”

Tour dates:

November 19 – London Troxy (sold out)
November 20 – Manchester Academy (sold out)
November 21 – Glasgow Barrowlands (sold out)
November 23 – Glasgow Barrowlands
November 24 – London Troxy
