Birmingham's Rainbow Venues brings Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, DJ Q

The Rainbow Venues has announced a huge event series for the first quarter of 2016 with some of the world’s biggest DJs.

The Chapter 12 season kicks off on January 30 with Kurupt FM hosting Preditah, Logan Sama, Tom Shorterz and more in the Textile Factory, while Ibiza crew Elrow put on a Bollywood inspired night with residents De La Swing and George Privatti. Hospital bring London Elektricity and Roni Size & Krust (Present Full Cycle), among many more, for a D&B takeover on February 6, while Maribou State and Pedestrian are in town on February 12.

Later in the season, reggae and dub selector David Rodigan hosts RamJam, Cirque Du Soul throw a party with Toddla T and Barely Legal, and the first edition of Elements will add some techno to the equation with Truncate, Rebekah and Dark Chambers. Chart-toppers Gorgon City play on March 11, Cream bring Roger Sanchez on March 12, and RAM Records take over on March 19 with Sub Focus.

At the heart of the season is the Chapter XII festival, celebrating the Rainbow Venues’ birthday, with seven spaces hosting over 40 DJs, including Loco Dice, Luciano, Art Department, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, Jamie Jones, Sasha, Guy Gerber, George FitzGerald, Redlight and Mella Dee.

In April there’s an Aus night with Huxley and Will Saul, while Shogun Audio take over on April 29, and there’s much more after that, taking the series up until June. Other unusual additions to the series include a production of Trainspotting, an immersive, rave-inspired theatre experience which was a hit at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe (running from March 23 to April 2), street parties, pop-up shops, street food and a drive-in cinema.
