So Diplomats reformed, but Cam’ron and Vado might have just undermined the whole thing by teaming up with Busta Rhymes on one of the year’s most addictive hip-hop tracks.

The beat on ‘Rubberband Stacks’ is somewhere between late ‘90s Swizz Beats and ‘A Milli’ with booming kicks, shrieking synths and stripped-back snare drums, a heliumed-out vocal taking the hook. Everyone comes correct here, but Busta really steals the show, switching from his slow, booming Zeus tone to super-fucking-fast at the drop of a hat – or in this track’s case, a well-timed machine-gun sample.
