Entering The Dragon, the debut album by the late Keith Hudson, has been reissued.

Nicknamed The Dark Prince of Reggae, Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald did much to introduce Hudson to folks like us through their Basic Replay imprint, serving up loving reissues of the incendiary Playing It Cool & Playing It Right (1981) and Flesh Of My Skin Blood Of My Blood (1974) LPs in 2003-4.

Recorded in ’74, debut solo full-length is a strange brew, though it doesn’t quite chart the heights of weirdness of his languorously psychedelic later work. Tautly rhythmic, it includes covers of Hugh Masekela, Phyllis Dixon and Maxine Brown.
