A cut ‘n’ paste homage to hedonism.

Arab Strap have unleashed the video for their new single, ‘The First Big Weekend of 2016’.

The visual, which pieces together archive footage and film “shot throughout the band’s 10 years of tears” over 1996-2006, pays tribute to all the good (and bad) times: the pub, the rave, the 24-hour cafe, the post-club comedown, the tears.

The Scottish indie duo – made up of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton – are reuniting this October to play a handful of 20th anniversary shows. These gigs will be Arab Strap’s first since a one-off acoustic set for Glasgow venue Nice n Sleazy’s 20th birthday in 2011.

The band released their classic debut single ‘The First Big Weekend’ in 1996 and this new single is a repackaged version of that debut, remixed by Glasgow-based producer Miaoux Miaoux.
