Okay, we’re not gonna lie, Tropical is one of the weaker buzzwords that’s been thrown around London’s clubbing scene in recent months, but when it’s attached to a line-up like this we’re not going to complain.
The Big Chill Presents is a new series of themed monthly events at Kings Cross’s Big Chill House, and the theme of this one is, you guessed it, Tropical.
Headlining is the duo of Johan Karlberg and Etienne Tron, together known as Radioclit. Two thirds of the Very Best, they’ve run their ‘ghettopop’ nights in London for the best part of a decade now, and in their time they’ve put on David Banner, Diplo, Sinden and more.
Second on the bill is Doc Daneeka, one of our Producers to Watch for 2010 and one of the stars of Fabric’s recent Elevator Music compilation. His remixes of Delphic and Digital Mystikz have caught the eye of many, as should his FACT mix penciled in for this Friday.
Greena, one of our favourite DJs, is also on board, and fellow Night Slugs producer Girl Unit joins him. Girl Unit’s ‘IRL’ is one of the dubplate tracks of the year so far, and live his sets take in the best of house, juke, RnB and more. So do Greena’s, actually.
Rounding off the line-up is Oliver Rant, formally part of the duo Crystal Death. It all takes place Friday March 19 at the Big Chill House, London.
