Having become a staple fixture at the UK’s best festivals in recent years, Rizla takes to the road once again in 2010, with none other than Hot Chip, Toddla T (pictured) and Grandmaster Flash as its resident DJs and curators.

They will each curate their own individual day at Rockness and Lovebox, as well as getting into the Rizla van to work the soundsystem at four bespoke regional events across Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Sheffield.

Toddla T played with the Rizla Invisible Players, saying, “It was one of my favourite sets of last year with a wicked atmosphere, and the sound system is just crazy.’  As for this year’s outing, he added, “Grandmaster Flash is a legend, no two ways about it, and mutual respect for Hot Chip… Mind-blowing!”

The 2010 Rizla programme, partnered by FACT, kicks off at Rockness, on the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland, June 11-13, then heads down to London’s Victoria Park for Lovebox,, in Victoria Park, London, July 16-18.

Also confirmed is a boat party down the River Clyde in Glasgow on August 6, and another on the River Thames on October 8. News of the Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Sheffield events coming soon.

Hot Chip are renowned for their eclectic and incredibly discerning DJ sets, able to skip effortlessly from UK garage and house to Teutonic techno via synth-pop, dubstep and much else besides. Being as he is the father of hip-hop, you know what kind of action to expect from Grandmaster Flash, and Toddla too will be familiar to FACT readers and clubbers around the land for his eccentric take on 21st century gutter music.
