The Chemical Brothers have announced that they will release their seventh studio album, Further, in June.

The album will be released with corresponding films made “specifically to match” each of its eight audio tracks. These are the work of The Chemicals’ long-time visuals collaborators Adam ‘Flat Nose George’ Smith and Marcus Lyall.

According to a press release, Further takes its lead from Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons’ Electronic Battle Weapon series, as well as their live sets; apparently “West Coast power pop harmonies sit beside German Motorik rhythms while Valentines-esque sonic manipulations plane across the top of early house basslines.”

The album and films will be played in their entirety at the duo’s four sold-out shows (May 20-23) at the Roundhouse and at the Sonar Festival and selected festivals in Europe. These will only be seen in sequence at those gigs.  After the gigs, the films will feature on a special edition DVD release and on iTunes..
