Rave worship house Bangface has announced the first acts for its annual weekend festival.

Bangface is a festival that knows what it likes when it comes to dance music: it likes things big, it likes them fast, and it likes them heavy. Don’t expect any flailing EDM gym-heads here though; Bangface’s is a crowd that knows its history, and it’s reflected in the acts that the festival book. Headlining in 2013 is a live audio-visual show from techno originator LFO, whose 1991 album Frequencies changed the dance music landscape forever.

LFO isn’t the only act representing for the early 1990s – acid trailblazer A Guy Called Gerald will be teaming up with old sparring partner Graham Massey as Rebuild, while DJ Pierre and Phuture will be repping for late ’80s Chicago, and Shut Up and Dance will be starting the rave as only they know how. Bangface favourites Kid2606, Venetian Snares, Luke Vibert and Otto Von Shirach are all on board, as are Kanji Kinetic, Black Sun Empire, Congo Natty (feat. Rebel MC, Congo Dubs and Tenor Fly), Aphrodite and Krome and Time.

Bangface Weekender takes place from September 13 to 15 at Newquay’s Trevelgue Holiday Park. For tickets and more information, head here.
