Kraftwerk, Chic, Giorgio Moroder and Laurie Anderson to play Moogfest 2014 in North Carolina

Behemoths of electronic music line up for North Carolina festival.

Kraftwerk and Chic have been announced as headliners for next year’s Moogfest in North Carolina, with the German man-machines set to perform three 3D concerts in two days.

Disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder and veteran performance artist Laurie Anderson make up two more electronic veterans on the bill alongside the likes of Daedelus, The Gaslamp Killer, Darkstar and Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks. Meanwhile Art Department, Green Velvet, Soul Clap and Sasha will offer more dancefloor-focused sounds.

The five-day event features talks, workshops, screening and presentations alongside the nighttime entertainment. Ten venues will host music from 7pm until 2am from Wednesday to Saturday and 3pm until 6pm on Sunday.

Moogfest launched in 2004 in tribute to synthesiser pioneer Bob Moog. Next year’s event takes place from April 23-27 in Asheville, North Carolina. Tickets can be found here.

Nile Rodgers appeared on Reddit last month for an Ask Me Anything session, while Kraftwerk recently announced plans for a Los Angeles residency and a one-off 3D show in Oakland. [via RA]
