1Xtra DJ and the man behind London’s Deviation club night, Benji B, appears to be taking over from Mary Anne Hobbs’ on Radio 1’s experimental show.

Benji announced this hour on his Twitter that his “new show on Radio 1 will start on the 14^th October at 2am” – the same slot that has been vacated by Hobbs, who announced her departure from the station last month, and who has been counting down to her final show with guest mixes from Shackleton, Digital Mystikz and more. Her final show, with yet-to-be-announced guest appearances, will be broadcast next week.
