The Red Bull Music Academy comes to London in 2010, and with it a wide range of music events open to the public.

Perhaps the most intriguing prospect is that of hearing Moodymann DJ, with support from the Horsemeat Disco boys, at ‘A Roller Skating Jam Named Red Bull Music Academy’. Kenny Dixon, Jr. is a masive fan for roller disco culture, and he’ll be bringing with him ten of Detroit’s most notorious four-wheeled dancers for this special show at South London’s Renaissance Rooms.

There’s a 3D Soundclash taking place at a secret location on February 18, the centrepiece of which is former Human League and Heaven 17 man Martyn Ware‘s 3D Audioscape, which allows punters to “literally control sound in all kinds of three-dimensional parameters”. Warp-signed sound artist Mira Calix and others will be on the bill.

RBMA will team up with the Sónar festival for Red Bull Music Academy x A Taste of Sónar , featuring a line-up of new talent including “anti-pop crooner” Guadalajara.

The big names are pulled out of the bag for an unmissable night at the Royal Festival Hall on February 12, with appearances confirmed from Carl Craig, Francesco Tristano, Moritz Von Oswald (Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound), Matmos, Bugge Wesseltoft, Henrik Schwarz and Terre Thaemlitz as DJ Sprinkles.

Soundsystem culture is the name of the game at Sin City, taking place the same night at Plan B and starring JA icon Scientist, dubstep stalwarts Hatcha and N-Type, Appleblim b2b Ramadanman, plus David Rodigan, ONeman, El-B b2b J Da Flex, Kenny Ken and many more.

On February 13, RBMA present a concert and workshop at the ICA, headlined by Drums of Death and James Pants (both performing live), while on the February 17 at the Roundhouse ‘Culture Clash’ brings together Jazzie B’s Soul II Soul soundsystem, Digital Mystikz, Trojan Sound System and the Metalheadz crew (Goldie, Andy C, Commix et al).
