This week on FACT…

We interviewed Karizma, the veteran Baltimore house producer who has been influencing a whole new generation of producers and labels of late, from Martyn to Roska, Night Slugs to Numbers. Londoners can catch him headline the Numbers party at Fabric tonight – see you on the ‘floor.

The number of great records released in June was pretty staggering; as such, it was damned hard to cherry-pick our ten Tracks of The Month. But cherry-pick we did, and Zola Jesus and Ramadanman were among the artists who made the grade.

Joakim talked to us about Five Records from his collection that have provided a steady source of inspiration over the years, including Silver Apples’ self-titled debut and Scott Walker’s baroque masterpiece, Scott 3.

In news we gave you the inside track on new releases from Model 500, David Bowie, Martina Topley-Bird, Spiritualized, DJ Shadow, Robert Wyatt, Terror Danjah, Floating Points, Nite Jewel and Miles Davis, and in reviews we gave our verdict on the latest from the likes of Big Boi, Spooky, Quest and The-Dream.

Oh, and don’t forget to check Pinch’s FACT mix – stuffed with new and unreleased material from the likes of Skream, Mala and Distance.
