Fifth edition of English all-dayer looks to the future.
Cambridge’s Space-Time festival has announced a stack of exciting names for this year’s festival, which takes place at Wysing Arts Centre on August 30.
Exploring this year’s theme – simply ‘the future’ – are vocal manipulator Holly Herndon, Golden Pudel resident Helena Hauff, Factory Floor and Carter Tutti Void’s Nik Colk Void, Opal Tapes electronic artist Karen Gwyer and multi-instrumentalist Ashley Paul.
You may notice that all five of those artists are female, and that’s because the festival has this year decided to focus on women in arts and music.
The annual festival is billed as a day-long mix of live music, sound and spoken word performances, film screenings, artists’ stalls and family activities – head to Wysing Art Centre’s website for more details.
FACT TV interviewed Herndon at this month’s MUTEK festival in Montreal – watch her discussing art in academia and the age of information in the clip below, and then find out what she picked as her Favourite Record. [via RA]
