Powell and Jaime Williams’ Diagonal label are taking over London’s Café OTO this Thursday May 7.

Though the surroundings of Café Oto might seem a little sedate for a label more used to distributing glowsticks at its parties, the fact the Diagonal has named the night ‘No Tables, No Chairs’ and promised to bring in its own soundsystem for the occasion should put your fears of a quiet evening to rest.

Leading the night’s music is the debut UK live performance of Beau Wanzer, the Chicago artist known for a string of lo-fi, offbeat records on L.I.E.S. and Nation, both solo and as one half of Mutant Beat Dance with Traxx. He’ll be supported by Not Waving, the solo project of Walls member Alessio Natalizia, who will complement Wanzer’s set with his own pulsating analog electronics ahead of a double album for Diagonal later this year.

DJ sets on the night will come from Trevor Jackson, who recently directed the video for Powell’s ‘Sylvester Stallone’, and label co-head Williams. Diagonal fans will also have the opportunity to purchase one of 15 fine A2 prints by Diagonal’s design guru Guy Featherstone, pictured below.

Advance tickets can be bought from the Café OTO website, and those looking for a taste of what to expect can listen to a killer new mix from Williams below, which contains a healthy spread of forthcoming Diagonal material.
